"Newbold" is a landscape painting commissioned by Kim and Dick Barnes.
Upon completion in 2009 their painting will be shipped to the United Kingdom where it shall hang on the walls of their stately home in Bath.
Newbold lookout is situated a few kilometers from the country village of Copmanhurst some 30 kilometers from Grafton, north coast of New South Wales Australia.
This particular scene was chosen by Kim not only for the spectacular river scenery but this area also holds fond family memories from when Kim was very young.
The canvas is currently stretched to 2.5 X 1.5 meters ( 8½' X 4½').
The paint medium is high quality oil and the colours used are the 3 primaries; red, blue and yellow plus the neutrals, black and white.
Will anyone ever discover all the animals in this painting? The smallest recognizable detail is the eye of a white cockatoo. This eye is about the size of this full stop.
